The other thread was getting a bit large, so I started a new one. It will also be a bit easier for those with dial up

Clear coat going on with one student

Getting a bit shiner with another student handling the gun
Inside the booth, front shot
Inside the booth, rear shot
Outside the booth, in the shop with a bit less light. Those mercury vapors were still warming up in the morning. Takes them a few minutes.
Still a lot of work to do. We need to fix some runs in the clear, some on each door. But the clear run is fairly easy to fix without repainting. That's next week after some paint curing time. Then it will get the custom paint in the following week. Then more clear over the custom stuff. After that, a lot of assembly.

Man...it wouldn't be a real paint job without a few runs in it!
When they did mine the first time, it had a run all the way down the side of both doors, just at the mid-line, and on the front fenders at the same height. I showed it to them when I picked it up...a guy took a friggin razor blade and scraped the runs off, then buffed it out!
Anyway...
D A M N that's PURDY!!!!!, Ken!!!!

There is no substitute for low end torque!
Believe it or not, just as Joel said. When cured enough you cut the run off with a razor blade or nib file, the wet sand and buff. The run is gone. It's nothing but a excess of paint, which is cut away and polished. That won't work with metallic colors as well, but sometimes it does fine. Solids and clear it's a piece of cake.
Yes, it is what or better than I hoped for! Gotta Love TORCH RED!
