Hi Everyone,
Can anyone tell me my next step on pulling my 1970 body off it's frame. I have the engine and tranny out. I have the entire interior out including the steering column and brake pedal. What is my next step. Do I need to take the bumpers off or disconnect the gas tank somehow. Any input would be a great help. Thanks.

Vette(s): White 73 convertible - 350/auto, A/C PS, PB, PW, leather, t/t, two tops
Also had a 69 t-top 20 years ago
You'll have to do a through search for any hoses, wires, ground straps, brake and gas lines, etc. that go between the body and frame. I think the bumper mounts have to be removed too. I have a book at home that details total disassembly of a 69 convertible, it's called "corvette restoration guide", or something like that. You need to get that book or something like it. Joe

Kevin,
The "Body Lift Workbook" (and the body lift and chassis restoration video)both by Mr. Noland Adams, is also very helpful. Take a look at the NCRS website (publications section) for details (www.ncrs.org).

I just started mine today because the body mounts have broken through the supports. It's just sitting on the frame. Things to do:
Disconnect: steering shaft, brake lines from master cyclinder, battery ground stap, antena ground strap, rear bumpers from frame, headlamps and taillamps sockets from body, side marker lamps, rad support from inside fender wells. main wire connector from firewall, heater hoses from heater core, etc. What am I missing?

A few other things to look at: Throttle cable, oil pressure gage line, A/C lines, Starter wirers. Vacuum lines, etc. I have a lot of work to do. My body mounts don't have anything left to mount to on the body. some pics on http://hometown.aol.com/bmclau5079/page5.html
I need to replace the rocker channels and front and rear inserts before I can start to put it back together besides the fuel and brake lines (which is what started this project in the first place).
