On a previous post, I asked about a 'front end bracket' below the air dam.
Research from another site has me to believe it's a 'towing bracket'.
There was a General Motors Camapaign to add these brackets to 1980 Vettes.
Mine is an 81.

does anyone have one of these?
I'm trying to find out more about it, including if it was an aftermarket add on, or came on the car.
any info will help

I have an 80 L-82 and I thought the same thing that you did when I picked mine up. Infact I thought it was part of the pulley assembly when the pulled them down the assembly line, but after doing some research and looking at 80-82 vettes at car shows, I have come to the understanding that it is original equipment. There are also towing brackets in the rear as well.
Thanks PJ.
Mine appears to be bent back abit, probably from scraping hi asphalt surfaces.
It causes the front air dam to appear 'pushed back'.
I'm gonna have to get to a show to check out some others, cuz I can't find any info on how they're supposed to 'look'.
