Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
I'm beginning to think the 68 must be different from later years. The back of my hardtop has about a 5 inch bolt which screws into the top. After putting the top on, you have a retainer clip and  nut to tighten it down. Confused
dave12,
My hardtop does not have any pins in the back.  Do they resemble the ones on the soft top?  The bolts on the side are just 7/16 hex and I have that part figured out.  I was just thinking that the rear needed something to tighten the seal.  However, if they are for alignment only, I can get by without them.  What do you think?
Put the top on, tighten the 7/16 bolts and ride! On mine, there isn't anything to snug the top to the weatherstrip other than the weight of the top.
