Will a 68 hard top fit a 73? were the hard tops different thru the C3 years? I had a guy in a hummer pull me over today asking me if I wanted to buy one for 300 bucks, stated his son wrecked his 68 years ago, and its sitting in his garage, if the weather stripping is in good shape, would this be considered a good deal?

My vette has a small hole in the center of the rear deck lid, I read in another post that means my car originally came with a hard top...True?

Thanks,
Rick |saluteflag|

I think the hard tops usually run around $800.00 and up depending on condition. If the top itself is good, you could probably completely redo the weather striping and come out with a great top for a reasonable price.

Sounds like a good deal. The weatherstripping is over $300. Of course you will probably need paint.

Thanks for the responses, I'm going to look at it tomorow. I checked out the prices on weatherstripping, jeez, I should start my own weatherstripping company,,,,

Hi

If it's a 68 top, it does not have the trailing edge chrome tips.
Later models had this chrome tips on both ends.
The price is OK, even if it's not perfect.
They hardly go for under 500 $.
