Well? Im just a walking problem child with my sibling 77 vette. Okay! With high beam indicator ON (mine's blue indicator light on panel gauge) should I expect all four beams to be on? Switching between low and high beams, I get either inner beam L and R or outer beam L and R but not all four. Obviously, it's not beams burned out. Is there some relay at the assembly near beams needing attention - replacement? Ron Please reply soon, state inspection is coming near.

Vette(s): 1980 corvette, very modified.
Right hand drive done by myself.
When high beam is on you should have all 4 lights on.
On low you should have the outer left and outer right beams on only. Sounds like someone has played around with the wiring to have the problem you are having. Any good auto electrician would sort that out in about an hour.

The bulbs for the low beam may be the type of bulbs that are one way bulbs...that is to say they only come on when the low beem is selected. They are suppose to be a two-way bulb that work in both high and low selection. The one way bulb will plug right in the two-way system, but not the other way around.
Another reason for what you are experiencing, is that the low beam bulbs both may have burned the high beam elements in the bulb, in which case the lows would still work, but the high beam will not work.
You might go buy one two-way bulb to replace one of the low bulbs and see if this corrects the problem before you start trying to diagnose wiring problems.
