Eckler's has a kit to replace the pop-up headlights with fixed rectangular ones they say is a bolt-in operation, plus paint to match. The kit runs $429.99 per pair and plexiglass covers run $199.99 a pair.

Other suppliers may have them as well. Hope this helps.

Just remember to save the pop ups! Unless you want to make about 1000 cash, thats about what there going for as long as there working.

Hello Scott,

The fixed headlights of the late 60s and very early 70s are no longer available. Thes were known as Daytona headlights and were available over the counter from GM. They consisted of an aluminum "bucket" and a formed lexan cover.

There have been a couple of individuals that have reproduced them but they are no longer in business as the demand was very low.

I have seen them from time to time in Hemmings the last set were $500.

If you are interested in this piece, I can look for them at the different events that I will be attending.

Alex

Are the originals going as high as $1000 now, I thought they were more in the $500/pair range?

Try Vanacor Corvette parts. They have what you are looking for. I have a set setting in my garage but they are for a 68-72. |cheers|

You can get the Daytona (also known as FIA or LeMans) headlights. I know, because I bought a set last year! The set includes the aluminum buckets and bubble plexi covers. Tracy Performance in Roseville, Michigan is where I got them. 586-772-0000

Ecklers and MidAmerica have these kits. But man, what a great gift for a 16 year old. I hope he doesn't try to chop it up too much, making it like a ricer that seems to be popular with the kids these days.

I am about to pick up a set of those at JC Witney for $325, so you can save on Ectklers prices if you went there. Now, where do i sell my working pop-ups for a good price? |thumb|
