Contrail said: Thanks! I'll check it when I get home. My week is sure getting full fast! Window regulator, headlight door adjustment and intake manifold gaskets. Maybe I should take my show on the road... ![]() |
Add to the list a new carburator, and since I'm replacing that and the intake gaskets, might as well put on a new manifold...
Yeah, selling tix may help pay for all the parts!

ok for headlight adjustment i have this:
1968-1982 -Up and Down Vertical Adjustment
All headlights are pretty much the same, they all adjust horizontally and vertically and stop and start positions.
1. Start by removing the lower grills under the headlights.
2. Now you have access to your headlight adjustments.
3. Remove one of the vacuum hoses from the canisters, this will let it move freely without any vacuum interference.
4. Remove six screws on your headlight bezels and the bezel will come off.
5. Now to adjust the up and down vertical adjustment loosen the six bolts in the back of your assembly, three bolt in a triangular position. Three on the inside and three on the outside of the assembly will loosen it up so you can adjust it flush with the surrounding panels. After headlights are flush, tighten bolts, Replace vacuum hose and put the bezel back on. It's quit simple.
1968-1982-side to side adjustment
Now that you are flush with the rest of you surrounding panels it's time to get all the gaps uniform, around the headlights.
1. Remove lower grills under your headlights.
2. Loosen up the both Allen head set screws, inside collar and outside collar, This will allow you to move the assembly side to side. Adjust for a proper fit.
3. Tighten up set screws when adjusted.
Door Closed Adjustment
1. Adjust The bolt on the back of your elbow linkage so that when the headlight closes it hits the stop in the right position. Screw in or out for your adjustment.
Door open Stop adjustment .
1. Adjust headlight so that when its opens the headlight locks into place and you get no headlight flutter. You'll find that adjustment on the outside of each headlight assembly, easy to adjust turn in or out for your adjustment.
