My drivers side headlight door isn't aligned with the rest of the body. If you stand in front of the car and look at the headlight door the upper left side is about 1/4" lower than it should be. Recently that same light has gotten stuck a few times when opening. Any help will be appreciated.

Cookie, I just finished restoring both sides on mine. the doors are adjusted by both the mounting and bearing bolts - mainly the bearing bolts. Tag team effort makes the much easier to do as you need to be a bit of a contortionist to get at the bolts without taking off the hood and grille, bumpers, etc.

There are also limiting bolts that act as a stop from over-opening and closing.

Give me a call if you need help.

Paul

I have a problem along the same lines.  Both doors open fine and they look to be about even, but when my lights are on, the "Head Lamps" idiot light stays on the whole time.  It's not really a problem as much as it is annoying.  Any thoughts?

Paul, thanks for the advice, I was doing some minor work on my car and my friend Tom (Mustang Sally) found my problem. It seems that where the tip of my hood meets the front nose of my car the epoxy that holds the fiberglass to the front gave way. Once he put pressure on it my hood & headlight all lined up. He showed me where the hood stayed glued and where it came loose. Finally this should be an easy fix. How have you and the family been ?

Good, Cookie. Glad you found the problem. Are you still doing the Vettes for Vets event?

Marshall, I believe I had the same problem 2 years ago, when my lights were on, the red light on my dash went on also. What I can't recall if it said "Head lamps" or "Door open" I replaced the Headlight warn/alarm switch which cost about $25 ea. (I replaced both) They were very easy to replace and easy to reach. (I laid under the front of the car, under the headlight) I believe I got them from Ecklers #593075. Talk to them first and make sure we're talking about the same part.
