Vette(s): 79 L48 All Original Ice Blue T-Tops Leather Gymhkana Suspension. Needs some TLC.
I've burned two days knocking out one problem at a time, and I created a few new ones. And I did give her a good buffing and she looks a lot better. If not a good car at least it has the appearance of one.
Anyway have a question about the headlamp doors. I have only one lamp door that opens. All vacuum lines seem to be in the right places; not 100% sure though. However, I think I narrowed it down to it being one of the actuators. I did so by switching the vacuum lines from one actuator relay to the other and the same headlamp worked while the other still didn't. Ya'll check my sanity, is reasonable to assume its the actuator that is bad on the one headlamp door, if I switched the lines from one relay to the other and got the same results?
Also, Is there are drawing available on the web somewhere for headlamp vacuum system?
I gots lots questions, but I leave it that for now, won't be long an i'll be answering question

If you look in the body forum, you'll find some past post's that address this. Look for something called vacuume 101. It will help you track down your problem.
Good Luck.....it's not hard, just time consuming.

Rick,
Take a look at these two places;
www.corvette-101.com (follow the selections to headlight vacuum system)
www.docrebuild.com (check around the home page for the headlight diagram)
Both of these have been helpful to a lot of us here.

And... If you narrow it down to the actuator, first check the replaceable seal before you buy a new actuator. The only difference between the two actuators is the direction of the tube for the vacuum line, so if you are real ambitious, you can switch them to test.
