OK, I need a question answered, why did some years have insulation hood blankets and some didn't? How many of you have them missing and have not replaced them? I saw a chrome bumper car at a car show last Fri. night and he said it was all original and he didn't have nor did it come with hood insultion. I know most answers are going to be for heat protection for the paint but what could be different from year to year on the same 350 CI. Mine is ratty but I would like to take it off and leave it off and have airbrushed art painted on the inside of the hood.

Todd, you can check this thread, it may give you some info on hood insulation. I know my 74 has the insulation with the cowl induction.

[/QUOTE] Thanks Larry, I did a search and didn't come up with that post, I guess I will have to work on my search skills.
Todd, the topic title for the post is "Hood Insulation for 72?" try that in the C3VR search, it's got the answers.

My '79 has the partial hood blanket that covers the back of the hood. The front is open because the intake system sits over the radiator.
