I am restoring a 1971 big block coupe. I have a tall intake manafold on the engine. It is a Weiand Team G. I am looking for a hood for this application. Does anyone know where I can find a selection of tall hoods for C3's? The L-88 hood is not tall enough.

They now make "Stinger Hoods" for Sharks. Wonder if that might work, since they were made for the mid-year big blocks that needed more clearance? Would be an interesting look going down the street. You could also look at American Custom Industries "http://www.acivette.com". They make some interesting "hi-rise" hoods.

The stinger hood sold by ecklers height dementions: put a 3.5 inch wood block in the fender drip rails in line with the carb. run a string across,,, thats the clearancefor air cleaner/carb.

ecklers catalog usually has a side bar (info) with their heights of aftermarket hoods

www.usbody.com  has a dominator hood (4.5 in.) should give all the clearance you need, and then some. The first hood I've seen with a finished/smooth  underside (paintable). this one might be a little to high huk_finn38757.4734837963
