How are the CORVETTE letters attached to the rear of the '68 Vettes? Are they just glued on? Should there be holes in the fiberglass for the letters pins to stick through?

On my 70 they are attached with nuts. They are the type that thread themselves. There are holes in the fiberglass that the letters set in. If you take out the rear license plate bezel and drop the spare you can get at them. There are also rubber washers that go on between the nuts and the glass.

Thanks Larry. Looks like the holes were filled in during the last repaint on this '68. Is it possible to see them from the back side and re-drill the holes?

Steve

I would think you should be able to see them. I would be afraid of chipping the paint off when the drill bit comes through. It is really tight in the back. I had a hard time when I replaced my letters. There was just enough room to get your hands in. I don't remember if the tank or the top of the spare tire carrier was in the way. If it was the carrier you could remove that. I can't remember how much room is in there. I do think that you should be able to see where the putty came out the other side of the holes.
