Vette(s): In the process of buying a 1970 Stingray
I am thinking of buying this awesome vette, but I am worried about the current damage the front body panel. Look at the huge crack right below the drivers side headlamp! How difficult is it going to be to fix this? Or better yet, an estimate on cost would be great. I am hoping you guys might have a similar experience and can help me out. I am worried about buying this vette and then still having to spend big $$$$ to repair that crack.
Thanks

Is that the onl damage?
Once the front bumper is removed that should be very easly fixed, plus that location may not be to bad of a spot to blend in the paint. then when the day and the bucks come to repaint the whole car worry about it then.

That is the only damage to the body. The frame and engine compartment all look good with zero to minimal rust. The seats are really bad with huge tears exposing the foam below. the door panels are also bad with cracks and junks missing plus the carpet is REALLY faded. the rest of the interior is worn but passes the test......what do you guys think would be too much money for this car

everything works except the original radio

That damage looks like impact damage, and the bumper may have been replaced. Notice the headlight doesn't raise fully on that side, either. Check very carefully in that area for other, minor damage.

If that's the only issue with the body, it's not that bad, but it might cost a bit to get it repaired properly.
Average prices on average '70 cars is in the $20,000- $25,000 range for the base engine cars. The 350hp(L46) would bring a bit more.
Interior repairs/restorations can add up, but if you do a little at a time, it's not a big hit all at once.
Good luck with the purchase!

Vette(s): 1981 - 59 Beige over Cinnebar leather. Edlebrock top end, 2200 stall w/shift kit, 3:55s, Mufflex maniback exhaust, nice stereo, 16 in AREs w/BFGs
As a buyer/spotter for my friends dealership, unless the car is DIRT cheap, we would not touch this.  There are terrific no excuses cars out there for very fair money.  We just saw a similar car clean no excuses change hands for 20k.
