I haven't hooked up the vacuum lines to my headlights since I put the EFI on and haven't driven it when i needed headlights on until tonight.  I pushed them up from underneath, but how do I get them down now?

Got an owners manual? I know it tells you in there how to raise and lower the headlights manually   If not I can quote mine for ya, but i'm sure someone will tell you really quick

there is a  pin under your dashboard to the right of the steering wheel that pull down, it is the manual switch for the headlights to go down. Once you pull it down you can then push the headlights down  manually. Make sure you push the pin back up after you lower your headlights.

Well.. tried pulling the pin and pushing down, but nothing.  After reading the Haynes manual it says to raise them that way but never try to push them down by hand.  Hmmm... I guess its time to get them hooked up again.

I believe you need to reach up from underneath and pull on the linkage. Kind of like trying to lower your hood without releasing the hood support.   Mike

I have done it a lot of times. You need to reach up and pull on the center of the arm that is attached to the vacuum cans. It will nuckle over and allow the lamps to go down. Be careful and don't pinch your fingers.

you can raise your hood and reach in between hood and headlight and find the arm where it is attached to the spring, located just behind and below the vacuum canister, pull the arm and the spring upward and the lights will release and come down, i don't know if you can pull them up that way. i don't think the dash pin will work unless you have a build-up of vacuum. i also have a 77. good luck, gene gs77vet38885.3629166667

Thanks guys.  Got them down pretty easily.  Just pulled a little on the linkage and they came right down.
