Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.
I got a wild hair you know where this morning and decided to fix my broken vent cable. Thinking that taking the console apart would be straight forward, I jumped in. I did not realize the extent that I would have to disassemble to get at that darn cable. I got overzealous and tugged on the bezel for the gauges, guess what, IT BROKE! I decided that as long as I was in there might as well change out the clock too. Will the prongs for the gauges go on more than one way? (hope not!).

Matt, you are right! Working under the dash of these Sharks can be real frustration! I usually start by removing the seats, then the e-brake console, then the shift console, finally the gauge cluster. Yes, the wires behind the gauge cluster can go on all sorts of ways, but you won't have any problem if you install the correctly colored wire as specified by the wire colors that are stamped on in the back of the cluster. Each wire connection is identified with a stamping. I refitted my clock with a quartz movement, works great!

Vette(s): 1958 red-white 4 speed 283 1976 My project car L48 T350 1984 Daily driver 1986 convertable daily driver 1991 zr1 never been driven still in plastic
mark the connectors with different color markers on eachside. make it look like a rubix this always helps. the dashboard of a c-4 is far worse. I re-did my 76 a while back and i remember it took me like 2 weeks spending about 2 hours a day on it. But the results are always worth it...............good luck
