Help! I have removed the inner door handle and I can not figure out how to get the slide on the door open far enough to reinstall. Can anyone help? Pictures would REALLY help.

I held the door handle rod with a pair of pliers against the tension - if I recall, it's easier to disconnect the rod from the door latch mechanism, connect to the door handle and then reconnect to the latch...

You stick a large blade screwdriver in the slot for the handle, pry out like your opening the door, stick another screwdriver behind it to hold it open, remove first screwdriver and install handle and screw.
Lonnie,
You must have some really BIG screwdrivers to fit the slot in that handle. I need to buy a wide blade screwdriver and try that next time, because I don't think I want to use the pliers again. Thanks for the advice.
