I would like to get some opinions on the installation and looks of Lambo doors on a Shark. I have seen a few and depending on Body color they do not look to bad. Thoughts??

Thanks

I love the look of it.  I looked into it myself, but I ended up with a few reservations (just opinion) :

-first : expensive for what it is...

-I have read from a thread here (but can't find it right now) that the hinge might not be good enough for the long haul.  After 1 or 2 years, you could start seeing the doors being mis-aligned.

-I have not sat in a car that has them, but it looks like it would restrict the space you have to get in/out.   And if you still have interior work to do in yours, then the doors would kind of be in the way.

Not trying to talk you out of it, these are the negative points for me, but I sure do like the look of it.

Saw, and got in... and out of... a PONTIAC that had them at a car show
this summer...

No problem at all lifting the doors...even for this "old" man"....

But to be honest....NOT on a Shark...  I did think about how they would work on my 95 However...since that thing is a royal pain in the "rear" to get out of..

The guy I was with owns a Body Shop, has restored 100's of Corvettes
couple of dozen Bloomington cars included and he was interested in the mechanicals ...he seemed to think they were well constructed
and if installed correctly there would be no problems with sag etc

Add one more personal opinion that they don't belong on a Shark.

But to each his own, and it is your ride.

The December 2005 issue of Corvette Enthusiast has an article on page 68 showing the installation of the vertical door hinges. The company is Sterling Accessories. Our own Mark Roseberry is the owner of the company and has them on his '81. Look for his story in the next issue of Shark Bytes.

Thanks for the thoughts, have been thinking about this and I have came to tha conclulsion that it would be a royal pain in the for myself to get in and out. As it is at 6' 2" I already have a tough time getting in with the T-Tops in and if I add the Lambo doors I would have to become somewhat of a contorsionist to get in and out. I do however like the look I would just like to see some pics on a Dark or Black C3 as the pics in the article in Corvette Enthusiast were of a Beige C3 and I did not care for them on that one. Anyway thanks again fellows.

Yeah, I agree they look cool. No doubt about that. But if you put em on a Vette, it better be a C4, C5, C6, or (C7?)

Here's a photo of your Lambo door.  Photo was taken from this years Corvette's For The Cure.    Hope this helps.
