County Corvette in West Chester did a perfect match on my '69s hood.

Well, I've called a few placed, based on recommendations above and also on CF.
I was shocked to hear that it could cost as much as $12,000!!!
The lowest ballpark figure I got was $5000 from Del Chevy in Paoli, PA.
Now I'm wondering why Del is so low. Do they not do as much or as good a job as the shops that cost $7,000 - $12,000?

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Holy Sheep DooDoo, Batman! $12 grand?! You can buy another 79 with decent mileage and a better paint job for that kind of muhla! Is paint a rare commodity out there in Pennsylvania?

Exactly my thought!!
I don't want to spend more than 5000 for it! Otherwise, yeah, I should just buy a different one.

Adam,
I just went to County Corvette's web page. They estimate 100 hours at $72.50 per hour and $1100.00 in parts. I don't know exactly what you want done but their price includes completely striping the car and sealing seams, etc. Take a look.

Well, I can tell you that I don't want ANYTHING done that will cost me $10,000 or more!!!
All I want is for it to look pretty when I drive down the street.... that's it! It doesn't have to be NCRS-ready or anything!

Hey! I usually don't have too much time to reply. I'm on the road alot but spending that kind of money is for a paint job seems too high. I had this guy do some work for me on my 82 I'm very happy with what he did. Give him a call, Miller's auto body Lynnport, Pa. ( near Allentown ) 610-298-8071. Like I said I'm happy with my 82. The front end had small chips etc. from the former owner I guess people backed into it etc. He repainted the front no big deal then I couldn't find tape to match because mine is 2 tone seperated by 2 tone tape so he painted it to look like tape great job I'm very happy. GOOD LUCK!
