Adam, Penske Chevrolet's paint shop has done nice work on my wife's '98 Maxima; good paint match, good blend, panels line up nicely, etc. They were also nice to deal with. They are one of those "insurance company preferred" shops, so that's how we even ended up there to and found out what nice work they do. I would have never thought of them to do work on this car, but it worked out great in the end. I would definitely use them again if I needed collision repair/paintwork. I don'know about their pricing structure, or how good they are at fixing and shooting paint on fiberglass, but who knows? I'd check 'em out if I were you.

Adam here's an idea. Bairs is one of your sponsors and he has a guy in his hometown that does all of his body work. I have seen a C3 that he painted and it looked great and it was reasonable. Its a long drive but may be worth it. Call Yogi and he can get you the info. Chuck

Adam, check out Rothrock Chevy in Sringfield Del. Co. they are doing some specials that were in the paper last week. My 1980 is in Jersey getting painted by a friend, it's going to take about three months but he is doing it when time permits! My first estimate was for $ 9000.00 !!!! These guys think they have the market cornered, GOOD LUCK. |cheers|

My next door neighbor finally has my car at his garage, might be a bit of a haul for you, but I'd be able to show you his work.

I agree with Glenn's findings as to the time required. I have painted a lot of cars and for me to do the job right, it seems to take about 100 hours from start to finish. I think $1100 is a little high for materials, i would have thought about half that but I will admitt, I am out of date with current painting material prices.
