Hey guys, I have asked questions before and the response has been great, so thank you. Now for my next question how do you remove the moulding clips around the rear window on a 78 . Mine is going in to be painted soon and some of the clips are broken so I will take this opportunity to replace them all if I can just figure out how.

If the rear window trim is the same as the front, it takes a special tool to fit under the trim, and "unhook" the tabs on the clips. The tool has one end that is angled slightly, and the end that fits under the trim is shaped like an arrow. I'll look & see can I find one for 'show & tell.

Thanks Adam but I've got the moulding off but I need to remove the clips from the window frame
They should have a slot in them which is wider at one end,unless they changed the design.there used to be a pin built into the windshield channel that the clip is held on with,you just had to move the clip up or down until the pin head and the wider part of the clip are in line so the hole is big enough for the pin to go through,then lift the clip off.I would spray a lot of PB Blaster on them B-4 trying to remove them,you dont want to break those pins off

Ron's right on the pins. Some of them will break off very easily, if you're not careful.
If you grab the clips, and sort of twist them, while pushing down, and towards the window frame/body, they should release. Make sure there is nothing stuck up under them, like old sealant/dirt, that would keep them from pushing down. Put some old towels or something on the glass, just in case you slip! Hope this helps!

Not at all. It is easier that way, but not necessary. The clips just need enough room to move downward, to release them. If you can, find a paint supply store(automotive) in your area, and they'll have the clips. Then you can see what they look like, and it will make more sense. Or ask a body shop to see one(clip).
