I need to replace the top on my 72. I think the frame is ok just needs cleaned up. But has anyone bought one lately. What is best, Who to buy from , etc. and what about Haartz Pinpoint Vinyl. Is this a brand or a company? and can you replace this yourself or is it a job for a pro. Sorry thats a lot of questions.
Thanks
Lonnie

I hear it is a job for a pro.  Joe Loomis, downtown OKC, has a guy he uses for all his restorations that is supposedly great.  Call Joe and ask him.  Tell him Tim said to call.  232-4028 I believe.

Several years ago I bought a top from Al Knoch Interiors (click here for their website) with the intent of doing the job myself.  Did a lot of homework and decided I better let a pro do it.  Several outfits that I contacted were pretty spendy and wouldn't even consider doing the job when I told them I already had a kit.  But when they heard whose kit it was they said they would do it.  I finally found one who was reasonable (don't recall the actual dollars, but I do remember they were 1/3 to 1/2 of what the others were asking), dropped the car off one morning and picked it up the next night.  Glad I didn't tackle that one myself.

I got a hold of the guy Loomis uses, his name is Bill Strong at Quality Auto Upholstrey on the North side of OKC. I did'nt Know the top had to be on the car to get a perfect fit. So I have to get busy so I can drive it to his shop.
Thanks Lonnie
