Has anyone bought a new top latley? I would like a good kit that has most everything needed in it, top, pads, straps, tack strip and rear bow chord. I know I will need to order the tension cables seperate.

I have checked different sites, Mid Amer, Riks, Bairs,Corvette Cent. prices are pretty varied, $249-$300+

The absolute quality leader for tops is Al Knoch.  If you buy it through anybody else, make sure it is AK.  That is all we sell because of the quality difference.

I'll 2nd that.  Bought a kit for "The Toy" directly from A.K. 4 years ago and had it installed by a local auto upolstery (sp?) shop.  At first I thought I'd try doing the job myself but then ran out of time (and nerve!).  Calling around to several shops to see who could do the install for me the first question I'd get asked was who's kit did I purchase.  Almost all of the shops I talked to said they would only do the job if the kit was from A.K. as they had too many problems with kits from other sources.

I'm happy with the job the shop did (best $$$ I've spent on a project to-date) and the top still looks great.
