Joe, it won't go on right away. First off, Lew (the painter) wants to keep the car for a little while after its done to make sure there's no problem with the finish. Then I have a friend who's going to let me borrow his garage for a little while. I'm stoked!

Well, I went by to see the car today and it was GONE!!!!!!!! Shocked When I came to my senses I was told they had moved the car to his other facility (next to his house) that has a better spray booth. They told me the color was on (YEAH!) and that they were getting ready to start applying clear. They also told me Lew didn't like the repair on the front wheelwell so he re-did it (don't you love this guy?). Monday morning I have to help take Hank's Vette down there for his paint repairs. Maybe mine will be back by then but I doubt it. Can't wait to see it!

Well, we dropped off Hanks Vette this morning, and as expected mine wasn't back. With the single digit temps here he didn't feel comfortable spraying the car. Tomorrow is supposed to be above 40 so he'll probably start then. He's putting on 5 coats of clear but after sanding it will end up to be 3. Really can't wait. Lew said if it all works out it should be back to the regular shop for buffing and reassembly next week. ITS GETTING CLOSER!!!!!!!!!!

The car still isn't back but Lew said all the clear is on and the sanding and buffing has begun! He's going to try and e-mail me some pics so I can see how its coming! He is very pleased so that was a good sign. If all goes well it should be back at the shop next week . Then he has to paint the mirrors, belly pan and such! after that its on to assembly!!!!! Can't wait!

It hasn't been that quick, Stan. Dropped the car off Dec. 11. Not a frame off but is a complete body disassembly. Windows, mirrors, door handles, locks, and everything else they can take off. They're repainting the door jambs, hinges, under hood, you name it. Not looking at time, just as close as possible to perfection!

Wow, tee shirts, a money jar for people ragging on barry, with all the proceeds he will own an air conditioned/heated shop in no time. This thread alone is already 7 pages long! Barry, I dont know how you can sit still and wait this out. We did mine here in the garage out back and I was going crazy waiting for it to get painted. You must have patients! More than me for sure. I cant wait to see it. Pics cant come soon enough. And order me a shirt and if this post qualifies for a ragging I guess I will owe you that as well.
