Check him out, Rick! My car SHOULD be there by then! Tell Lew I told you about him. The work I've seen he has done is awesome! I still will be worried, though. At least you found out about the other place before its too late! Good Luck!

Have fun with the car in the paint shop..is the place you are going to the same one that did the front end that hit a deer at Chips show?? That really did look good..could hardly tell an entire front clip was put on that..I am sure you can drop the car off when the snow clears up..take your time getting it there..its cold as heck up here too and the snow has turned to ice here also..it stinks..good luck Barry keep us posted with some progress pics.

Rich, it is the guy that did the deer car at Corvettes for Chip. I finally got the car there today, although 2 1/2 hours late! So, the prcess begins!

Barry,
The fun now begins. It will seem like forever but it will all be worth it. How often will you get there to keep your eyes on the project. Take lots of pics.

I went once to twice a week for two months on my 68. I drove 60 miles round trip and all they wanted was money when I showed up. But there was progress. Paint looks great, but not put back together as it should have been. Body shops can take things apart, but putting it back together is another thing. They don't understand the vacuum system the windshield wiper door, the head light doors, fiber optics etc. they can just pull it apart and then screw it up afterwards. Be very aware of final product.
Lew shouldn't have too much trouble putting it back together. He has only worked on Vettes for about 25 years. I'm still nervous about the process but it just seems whenever I meet with Lew he puts me at ease. Like I said, I've seen some of his other jobs and there's no waves (like I have now) and the paint quality is excellent. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Too late to turn back now!

Well, I stopped by yesterday when I was working in the area, and she is all torn apart and partially sanded! Sorry that I didn't have my camera with me. Lew did show me how someone had done an improper repair on front of the right front fender opening, it was narrower and went smaller at the end. But no worries, he says it can be easily fixed. Also, while I was there, the one guy sanding on the car asked me if I was keeping the wheels on the car. I said yeah, but why? He asked if it was okay to polish they up as he is into metalurgy
! BONUS!!!!
