Well it finally happened.  On Saturday's when I have a car show I drive my car to work in the AM, usually like 3am.  Basically I drive 14 miles through the woods to get there and see everything from stray dogs, cats, raccoons, to deer.  Well this morning after leaving my neighborhood and headed down the main road I saw two sets of lights zig-zagging across the street.  It turned out to be two cats running back and fourth (a boy chasing a girl I think) across the road.  I hit my brakes but couldn't stop in time and hit the cat being chased Confused  At first I didn't think there was any damage but when I got to work I found THIS.  One of the girls I work with gave me one of her "Hello Kitty" band-aids to dress it up for the show.

Most of the damage is cosmetic but the holes where it mounts to the inside fender well are tore up so I'm going to have to replace that side.  I'm just glad the  spoiler is three piece so I only need to replace the D-Side section.

Any one got one Unhappy

I hope you buried the cat.  If not you will be cursed more than just replacing the side spoiler.

Just be more careful and you know you can stop faster then just using the brakes.

RIP little cat.  Ying%20Yang

Not quite sure how to stay on topic of Mark creamin a cat but here goes......

Mark, glad the Pacers didn't sustain any more damage than it did. I know of another member who hit a dawg and it really screwed her vette up!

Hope you are able to locate the spoiler piece that you need and that Miss Kitty found it's way to a better place.....

You work with a good bunch! The band aide thing is just plain funny.....!

Thanks Tux.  I'm not sure if the original spoiler is fiberglass or another material.  I really don't want an aftermarket piece to go with the rest of the original spoiler.  I have seen each piece separetly on eBay before.

I was just gonna say you are the great e-bay hunter and you might get lucky. Do you think that there are any Pace Cars in some of these Corvette salvage places? A pacer in the salvage should provide you with an original part that might not need to be painted (just a thought). Oh and the band aid, well your co-worker are funny. You didn't speed up to get that cat, did ya?LOL

No, I hit my brakes and tried to turn out of his path.  But, with the fog and wet road I wasn't going to do anything to endanger myself either.

I don't think I'll find a Pace Car in a salvage yard around here, but how about a 79?  What year did they add the front spoiler after 78?  And were they solid piece or the same as the 78?  Someone on here knows Wink
