I am getting ready to bond on the nose reinforcement that goes just behind the headligts, (the on ewhere the rivets show through).  What has everyone used before to bond it on?   I have a structural epoxy that I have used for other things, but am concerned that it would not be flexible enough.

Matt, check with Ecklers(or one their web site) to see what is needed. I can't remember the name of the bonding glue that is used...too many years of sniffin exhaust fumes, ya know?

Since you have your support off, could you take a pic of how it and the bonding strip looks? There is another thread here with a member that has the rivets pokin thru the body, and I'm trying to give a good idea of what the parts are, and where they go, so he, and others can see it. My hand-drawn diagram doesn't look good enough to post here...

I am pretty sure its me that Joel is refering to. I'm not doing a body off so I'm still not sure how I'm going to remove the rivets. I'v been checking around and I am hearing on a scale of 1-10 removing the brace is a 10. Terrymy7T12006-10-30 12:15:57

I used fusor made by Lord corp. Body supply stores should have it. The gun is aroud $65.00.   www.lord.com  If it the support that is in front of the headlights that the bumper is attached to those rivets can be drilled out. I used pop rivets to install it along with fusor. I also did the rear headlamp support. Used the fusor there too. They have diffrent adhesives glass to glass and glass to steal. Also diffrent setup times slow and fast.   Kiltime2006-10-30 13:30:39

Thanks for the info, I ended up using a structural aircraft adhesive that is for bonding metal to fiberglass. I am sorry I didn't get very good pictures since it is already bonded on.  Mine had no bonding strip or rivets and was bonded on only.  I removed it with a chisel and cutoff wheel.  It was pretty easy but that was with the body off of the frame. I bought a replacement at Bloomington gold that was in pretty good shape.  The picture is from the headlight opening looking in, and the illustrations are out of the paragon catalog.
