A friend of mine has been making tops for Vipers ever since they came out. He gets real good money for them so the question came out to me about what C3 Vette people would like. I know there are the Astro tops out there and I had one at one time but it was in bad shape so I gave it away.
Anyway, would there be a market for a Targa top made of fiberglass or better yet, carbon fiber?
Just BS for now but you never know if you don't ask.

Vette(s): 1978 25 anniversary blue on blue with T-tops.
I would kinda like one. I think that it could solve some leak problems I have. I have to easily hard wash her since the driver and pass windows leak. I like the carbon fiber idea.

I really wish they had one that would add about 2" head room for us tall folks, that I would be intrested in.

The Astro top that I had did have a lot more headroom so I think the same could be done with the targa top. The T-top interior panel is what takes up the room. He finishes all his tops with just a thin layer of material. The hardware could be made to work the same way as the astro top or the T-top. I should start looking into the cost of producing this stuff. Of course a lot of the cost would  depend on the market.

An affordable targa style top that doesn't leak sounds good. Carbon fiber might not be affordable. It could be done in a light wieght plastic and covered in some kind of cool material (old classic carson top stuff).
