Has anyone bought one of these for a 1980 Vette and if so how do they look and fit.....The price difference between Glass t-tops and the one piece is drastic to say the least and I kinda like the way the one piece looks in the catalogs..............thanx

I haven't had one personally, but a couple of friends in my club have or have had them and I never seen one that fits very well. I guy had one on his 76 and he ended up selling it because it rattled and just didn't fit well with the body. Not to mention, he couldn't take it out and stowe it behind the seats if he had any kind of luggage back there. They are just not as versatile as the T-tops and certainly don't fit as well.

Jon.

I suppose that the only way you could carry them would be if you had a rack mounted on the back.

Well according to the lit. its says that you can carry it behind the seats in a 68-77 and in the rear area of a 78-82......I'm not to personally concerned about carrying it around....because if its on.... its raining and if its raining its gonna be in the garage...But I am really concerned about the proper fit of the thing...... |biggrin|

I had one of the plastic ones when I bought the car. It was not in very good shape so I gave it away. I liked having the extra head room but there was no way it would fit behind the seats in my 73.

I get most of my stuff from Vette Products in Lake Orion. Prices are about the same as the catalog's I have and I have the part in my hand before I decide to buy.

I have one of these on my 76 when it is under cover or cold out. I like the head room and the looks. I had a problem with a squeek when I first installed it. But this was nothing that a little white vasoline couldn't cure. It stores behind the seats fine with or without luggage. I purchased mine from Mid america Products. My T tops haven't been out of the bag except to be painted since I purchased this 3years ago. |cheers|
