Currently trying to get the right paint for my 1982 vete. Contacted my local paintshop and found out they didn't have the right Dupont paint (codes)corresponding with my GM codes on my buildingsheet.
Car is dual-tone light bleu metalic upper with dark bleu (metalic?? or gloss?) lower. Buildingsheet (82-vette) gives the GM paint codes 24/26. Are the sill plates same color as the lower part ?
Hope someone can give me some advice.

Theo, you also have some finish options other than DuPont.
code 24: Martin-Senour 32-8338
. . . . . . .Ditzler 3409
. . . . . . .Sherwin-Williams 32370
code 26: Martin-Senour 32-5080
. . . . . . .Ditzler 3410
. . . . . . .S/W 32106
John
PS - Just offering you some options if needed. I have nothing against DuPont. Worked for them for two years. Great stuff. I highly recommend it.

All the 82's inside sill plates are chrome and the Rocker Moldings are Gloss Black.

Thanks,
Was thinking of the rocker panels but wrote sill plates. You are right in that.
Didn't know they were black. As I can tell they look like dark blue. Got a sample of dupont spray paint for the 26 code and sprayed some on but didn't match the original color. So, I'm thinking you're right with this as well.
Thanks.

It's hard to find a proper spray paint in the Netherlands. Only have Spectrum (which could not find any Corvette codes) and Dupont.
Got the right color for the 26 code but the paint shop gave me the wrong color for the 24 code. Apparently even the Dutch Dupont system is not up to date with all Corvette color codes.
So you see I haven't got much choice and even then they give me the wrong paint.
Thanks anyway. Maybe in the future I come acros a paint shop that does supply one of these paints.
