Somehow, I guess because of the extremely cold winter followed by an extremely hot summer here in Maryland, my previously somewhat pristine paint job (original except the bumpers) has cracks everywhere! So a new paint job is in store for the winter (after the show season). Anyway, I have a 79 that has the very light blue paint with the dark blue interior. My wife wants to change the color. My question is what colors would go with the dark blue interior and still look good??? Or should I try to talk her into the original color maybe with some pearl? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Naw, red with blue interior would look too much like Bubba had been there!

silver, white, black
The original color looked fine to me ,besides it a rare color.Maybe the same color with a touch of pearl.

If I'm going to change it I want something that has a little more pizazz. Right now the car doesn't generate much interest at shows, just curiosity.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
1979 Color Combination for
Dark Blue were Silver Metallic, Classic White, Frost Blue, Frost Beige and Dark
Blue Metallic. These colors are from http://corvettec3.ca/interior.htm . If you look at other years you can see what
the designers decided would look good together. May be will would help?
Mille Miglia Red was used
with Dark Blue in 1973 and so was Orange Metallic. I googled “mille Miglia Red” it is a bright
dark red if you put in some flakes in the paint you may have a real winner. 1973 seems to be the only year that the used
Red or Orange with the Dark Blue. If you
search the web for 1973 Vets you my find some pictures of those colors.

Orange with Blue? Go Illini!! Or maybe Syracuse?
Never been a fan of the Baby Blue, but some pearl might make it interesting... Ever seen a car with that?
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
Gray, black, white ,silver and blue will all go with a blue interior. But honestly Barry, your car is unmolested and kind of a time capsule. I find it much more a needed piece of history to preserve that painting as an eye catcher...you've got a rare one there - one and only 79 I know in the light blue color....

There are alot of nice blues out there..........but again that is a rare color. It may not be an eyecatcher at shows. But the C3 Vette base fans will notice it. I know when I see one it's special.
