Watch those fingers! Block! Block! Block!
Around the contours, I use a plastic caulking tube with my paper wrapped around it. Kind of like a tubular body board. It works great on the wheel flares.
Looks like you're off to a good start!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip Dave. Soon to be primered, then sanded with 120 grit. I'll try it. Terry

Thanks!  I see what you are talkin' about now with the sander (didn't know what 'cha meant by DA Sander). Tongue It's a power tool sander.........cool! Cool  I'm thinkin' about sanding the paint off mine too, so that's why I asked.  After it's sanded, what kind of filler are you going to use? Question

Hey Luke I used a filler called Dura Glass when I did mine... It has fiberglass mixed into it for added strength. I first used years ago back when I was a kid molding in fiberglass ground effects, spoilers, & wings on custom vans it does a real nice job.

I've found that the majority of those stress cracks are actually in the paint, especially on cars painted with laquer.
In the case of cracked glass, I use a dremel with a small drum sander and open the area up and then re-glass it.
Dura Glass works well, but it needs something to grab, that's why you need to widen the area at the crack.
There's also a product called Angel hair. The strands in it are much finer,
Larger cracks or damaged glass need to be ground out pretty deep and layed back with fiberglass mat and resin.
Never use body filler on cracked or damaged spots, it's a surface dressing, not a repair material.

Yeah Daves right on it. Dura Glass is meant only as a filler. It isn't meant to do the repair. Only cure for that is glass work... Ummmm I can almost smell glass bonding agent in the air

Interesting Dave. Now I understand more of what has to be done to mine when I get there.    Thanks a million.    I have the stress cracks, but it's in the old laquer paint just some places on either side of the hood.   Now that you have defined the different types of cracks I won't need filler where I thought I might have to.

So after the surface dressing do you have to sand again to get it real smooth and even? With a finer type of sand paper?
