Terry, Looks like you are getting things taken care of nicely. It looks good from here ;o)
Did you have any pitting on your head light covers? If so the finish glaze works very well on those. Makes things smooth as glass again....Can't wait to see her after the sealer.fedexbicman76 2007-03-10 19:16:50

You are welcome Terry. That Red is PPG "Deltron" (DBU Tricoat", "Inferno Red" Brand Coade 5469 which is a Chrysler OEM code of AY120WEL,EL,PEL,PY3554,WEL . It can be sprayed directly over a primered surface and is a Base Coat/Clear Coat application. But, it is recommended to be used over two coats of another Base Coat color. I used PPG "Silver Metalic".
I need to get an updated photo of the car on here for my signature. This one is the day I brought her home from the paint shop. I now have all the trim back on and the tires & wheels cleaned up and a couple of coats of "Wet Glaize & Buff" on her.
This color actually appears to be three different tones depending on how much direct sun light it is getting. I could have put it over almost any other PPG base coat paint. The most common under coat of base coat colors are Gold Metalic, Silver Metalic and even Black Metalic. Very cool stuff....fedexbicman76 2007-03-11 18:25:08

Well finally some progress. The first coat of sealer went on. It shows we still have a lot of smothing out to do yet, but the spots that we're filled look good. Lots more sanding & blocking to come. The windshield has to be replaced yet, and some weatherstripping. At least we are making progress. Pics soon. Terry

Sounds great Terry. The sealer really helps to show the work yet to be done. IT will make a great base for the primer and finish prep you will do. I can't wait to see the progress pics. I would wait till you get all the paint done to fool with the weather strip.
Sounds like fun Terry. I don't think I would have the paitence for this stuff.

Thanks Vince. I really appreciate all your input. Hope mine is as pretty as your's and Brians someday. PATIENCE Brian! What is that. I'm going through some serious Vette withdrawls. Spring is here & I have a long way to go.

Hang in there Terry. I'm sure she'll be awesome with that front and rear chrome, new paint and that ear to ear grin you'll have pulling her out for the first time!

Terry,
How is it coming? Great help and answers from everyone. I am following the progress on yours as i work on mine, a 78. Hope to have ready for first primer next weekend.
Bick
Thanks for asking Bick. I will be done in hopefully a week or two. We're at the point of buffing, blackening the under carriage, and detailing. I can't wait. Pictures comming soon. Terry
