yeah.. the 40 grit was a joke.. it's practically rocks on paper..
I am using it for cleaning up my metal parts.. does a great job getting primer to stick on metal..
i'd be way to afraid to use it on glass..

The 40 actually works pretty good for shaping your body filler on the first pull.
I'll get Eric's cheat sheet out and see if I can figure out how to post the link, can I not just post a link to my personal page here? Or do I have to do it 1 photo at a time?

The Caddy black cherry is a beautiful color, if you use a few coats of gold color under the black cherry it will bring it will be more the depth and color you want.
BUT remember this is going to be an expensive paint job (even if you do it yourself) and that first ding will really be upsetting, especially when you discover matching the repaired area to the rest of the car will be almost impossible.

the expense isnt really an issue.. im cheap but i dont skimp on my vette.. i go without eating before i cheap out my car !!

i do plan on doing the primer layer.. but i have a guy that does body work that is friends with the guys that own the shop I work at on saturdays that will cut me a good deal on the finish layers if I do the prep layers.
ive already priced the paint and the guy told me anything with red is the most expensive.. plus im using dupont.. so its even worse.. and urethane is even more expensive.

Sorry, I could have been more clear. It's basically a finish system, Chroma Base and Chroma Clear.
