The first thing I did was to have two gelcoats layered, the last tinted in the same color as the base coat so when I get a rock chip it will not show up? that was my thought anyway? I'll know when I get my first chip if it works?http://www.C3VR.com/member_pages/6601_6700/6665/DSC01285.JPG

I'll scan in a pic of the HUGE note my wife stuffed in my briefcase about this... You know how this goes, all you married guys have heard something like this in some way, shape or form in your marriage. Goes something to the effect of:
"It's your car, I'd like it in a nice Emerald Green but do WHATEVER you'd like."
Choices are paint it white and have her not like the car and risk the budget being cut or paint it a nice Green and have her like the car and maybe spend more money on it...
Of course there is a 3rd possibility, she likes the car so much she decides she wants it for herself, but we won't talk about that one right now...

While I'm a fan of originality if you decide against repainting in white my cousin had a deep forest green metallic (factory color) on his '69 Chevelle ragtop that was absolutely STUNNING. The white top and interior really set that car off but your doeskin interior would look great with it as well.
White has been to only color choice for our cars and trucks since we've been livin in the Silver State. Summer is pretty hot here and a white car does reflect the heat better, also this is a pretty windy area and lots of dust. It dosn't show up on white as much. Less work with the duster.
