I did the passengers side mirror install last summer and shot pics of
the process. I am just now getting around to posting some pics of the
job. I bought my mirror from The Last Detail. They are located in
Atlanta and I have always had good luck out of them. Here are the pics
of my install. And yes I had a hard time getting the nerve up to drill
holes in my brand new paint job, believe me.

Great job Eddie. You did a fantastic job. I did that once to a '73
Monte Carlo, scared the crap out of me to start drilling holes on a
car. I also put a popup sunroof in a VW once and talk about pucker
factor when you make the 1st cut with the saw and knowing that this is
not an easy repair if you muck it up. I sometimes I think about putting
a right hand mirror on mine, cus i'm always looking over there backing
up or changing lanes.
[QUOTE=Flemgunner]Hey does the mirror come with the template?

I don't know about all of the aftermarket mirrors but the one I bought came with the template. Very easy to do and only takes about 30 minutes tops. I bought mine from my favorite vendor at Corvette Expo, The Last Detail. If you do a google search for them add the word corvette to your search or you will never find them.

I did mine last year and bought the mirror through Corvette Central. It came with the template and some good directions. I also measured the set up on my drivers side just to be sure I was getting the exact location for the drilling points before I bit my lip and squeezed the trigger on the drill.
That was the hardest part of the hole process. Hard to drill a whole in a perfectly good looking door surface.
