I just received a set of used rally wheel cap that I bough on ebay. (My car came with the "made in china" ones.)
I noticed there's a number inside the cap. Is it just a part number or it actually means something ?

On all 4, I can read the following :
3925805 X GW 552504
What's funny, is that none of them are "stamped" the same way.
Sometimes the "series" are all following each other and sometimes they are pretty much anywhere; just random.
Also, some strings (ex: "3925805" or "552504"), the digits are not aligned; some digits are higher/lower than the other and the spacing is not concistent. Just as if each separate digit was stamped by hand on monday morning after a rough weekend...
EVEN funnier, some numbers are raised, some are stamped and I'm stomped!

The "392...." # is a GM part #
The other nums are most likely supplier reference nums.
Sounds like a "real" set, if that is what you were wonderin'
"Looks"weren't a high priority on things you can't see from the outside.
I just went out & dug a couple of mine out, and they(originals) have the same nums on them.
