Topic: rear window shelf
in Forum: C3 Body
Hey Everyone
I just got my first Vette, a 1970 t-top, and have heard/read about a shelf behind the seat to store the rear window in, when removed. My vette was missing a lot of stuff, It was being set up for drag racing at one time so anything that wasn't needed was removed, including the entire spare tire assembly. If any one knows of a source for this "shelf" I would greatly appreciate the info. Also if somebody would like to describe what it looks like, how it's attached etc. that would be great,(maybe a pic).
Thanks,Jeff
P.S. I'm new to this board and to owning a Vette so I hope I'm not asking for to much or a stupid question

As a reference source you can access serveral of the parts suppliers catalogs - they have some very good pics - or this site is just full of people who have knowledge and access to the world of C3's

Jeff-
I have a bunch of pictures of the rear window tray inside and outside of the car. There are too many to post on the Forum. If you would like to see them you can email me at: dtr757@airmail.net
The tray goes in my '69, but they might help ya out some.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. They were a lot of help. and thanks Joel for the link, now I know what to look for. And, yes, I'm in the process of getting manuals, but what I have so far aren't clear on the subject.Again, Thanks to all.
Jeff
Ecklers and most of the other Vette specialists sell a copy of the AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) for all models. This is the manual that followed the car down the production line. It has a wealth of information and since I got mine I have been able to find every single screw that is missing. Unfortunately also some very suspect work that has been done to my 71 coupe.
Well worth getting one. Oh, they also sell genuine GM manuals that are better than the Haynes manuals for a little extra green.

Hi. LQQK,
My E-mail is 70ls7@c3vetteregistry.com. I'd love to see a pic. BTW that's a beautiful 71 you have there. It would make a great picture, your white 71 next to my black 70. talk to you later.
