Topic: Rechroming Source
in Forum: C3 Body
I am looking for a shop to rechrome almost everything on a project Corvette my local NCRS Chapter is working on. Does anyone have any recommedations.
I am located in Columbus Ohio and I am pretty sure there is no one locally. I don' mind shiping the parts a reasonable distance. I just want to find a good source (qualtity work, reasonable price and a decent turn around time).

If you need any plastic parts chromed, try Mr. G's or AutoInstruments.com. They do rechroming of plastic parts, thought it's not really chroming...they explain that to you.

Check this place out too. http://www.sirchromealot.com/index.html
A friend of mine had some chrome work done there for his bike and was really pleased. Don't know about prices or turn around time tho.
I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
I have used Frankford Plating in Phila. PA
The work was excellent.
Phone is 215-288-4518.
If you are trying to restore to Original condition to be judged by NCRS you will need to determine if the part to be rechromed was flash chromed. Examples of this are the air cleaner lid and ignition shielding. Triple plate will not pass NCRS muster for the pieces that are flash chromed. Frankford will do it either way but you will have to specify.
All the good shops have quite a back log of work. You should plan on waiting at least 8-10 weeks to get the parts back. Plan accordingly.
Hope this helps,
Bill
