I believe this was standard. Every 69 coupe ive seen had it.
When i had a 69 coupe I loved leaving the rear window out.

Standard, I believe from '68-'72 and maybe '73 also. Mine stays out most of the time in the summer. You can sure hear the exhaust tone better.

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

My 73 has one. It was built in early January 73 with, I suspect, a leftover 72 body. It does not look at all like it was added. VIN is correct for an early 73. I am glad I have that window. Maybe it is a freak, maybe it was added but I have it and I like it.

If you are interested in converting your current C# to a removal rear window, here is a good link; http://www.europeancorvette.com/html/removable_rear_window.htm

The bracketry for the window and the storage tray was still on the bodies until '77, I think. All you need to install one is the window, and the locks/fasteners for it, and a little time to install.
A lot of people added the windows later...sometimes I wish mine had one. Your's may have been done at the dealer when it was new. It's hard to say when it was done, but it wasn't done in St. Louis on any of the '73> cars.
