HI everyone.. restoring a 79 coupe, not sure if we want to go with the full 'body off', need to get to the
windshield supports. Any ideas on pulling off the front end / nose alone too get to the bucket? Ordered Nolan Adams body off restoration, didn't really help at all.
Any advice? ideas?
Thanks

If you want to remove the nose thats exactly what you have to do.
it is not easy job but totaly do able!
What part of the windsheild frame are you refering to?? just the upper windsheild frame or are you refering to the bird cage? The part or the portions that run down where the doors bolt up?
Do you happen to have picktures of your damaged parts?
Its just If I knew exactly what you are trying to fix then I can point you in the right direction on what to remove..

Sorry am new to the site and not sure how to send pics thru at this point.
This is the first Vette for us, project car.. and as such
it has been a learning experience... and we still don't know much. At this point, it has the doors off, no paint, a little bit of gel coat left, :) no exhaust..
Just got thru rebuilding both trailing arms, that was an experience...
The windshield frame that we want to get at is called the lower corner in the Zip catalog and it may possibly include the door posts / windshield support. So we want to take off the nose to gain acess the the lower corners of the windshield to check out damage and repair.
We are restoring to road quality, not to original. This is the learning project, but want to do it right. Am taking lots of pics along the way...
Thanks again for your help.

Can you email me some pictures of what you are working on.
phrogaircrew@yahoo.com
But if you look at a couple of the posts in here on "body offs" Brian the one guy doing his is fixing the whole lower part of the bird cage this is what you are looking to fix its what all the fiberglass is attached to.
Now he is lifting his body to get to the botom and repair his.
for the windshield repair you can cut off the top part of the fender fix any rust then fiberglass that section back in.
It may seam extrea but so does removing the whole nose!
I can show you this procedure if you want but still if you can send me some pictures through email..
