Hi,

I have to repaint the front and rear bumpers on my 76. I have been told not to use a stripper on them as it would damage the bumper. My question is how do I get the paint off just use sandpaper or? I will be repainting them in laquer and assume I have to add a flex agent to both the primer and the paint, is this correct?

There are several posts concerning this, By all means, use the flex agent. You may also want to consider a urethane type paint. It's more resilient than laquer.

defintely put flex agent in both all primer and all finish coats. your paint will crack for sure if you don't, I'd go with sandpaper too for removal

Don't sand too fast. A power sander can build up heat, melting and smearing the plastic. Low speed power sander is okay.
