I really like the look of the brushed aluminum on the 77 and down C3's over the black on my 81. Is there a bolton - no modification part out there?

Hey Kevin I think you can swap them out for the earlier models if you want too. My cousin has an 81 and he and I were eyeballing these one day. He said the same thing you did about the black rockers. I didn't see any differences dimensionally although we didn't pull my old ones out to verify.
He ended up leaving his as is because that OEM anal gene slapped him in the back of the head.
Another thought I had when looking at his was to buff the black off of the raised area on the stock rockers. I am pretty sure yours are aluminium and you would have your desired look and be sure for a perfect fit.

Kevin,
If your molding is aluminum as Tux suspects, and you want to have them buffed, I used a guy in Newark who charged me $150 to do both panels, and my t-top bar. I repainted the black stripe back on the panels, and they came out beautiful.

The rocker moldings are anodized...not that easily polished.
I think the moldings are a bit "shorter", height-wise on the '80-'82 cars, but don't hold me to that. They may still fit.

Hey Bro is da anodized like the trim around the winder that kinda fades away wit time??? (sorry man I couldn't resist that)
I'm not sure on the height issue.... Member I was eyeballin it. I gave my OEM rockers away so I can't check anymore. I would be afraid to guestimate them based off of the ACI rockers.
Can somebody get some measurements for Kebo? Pwweeezeee?

If memory serves, one size fits all with the exception of the 69-69 models which are fiberglass with a separate trim piece.

Joel,
I do recall my rockers having a dull finish/coating on them. This coating was removed during polishing, now they look like highly polished aluminum. I keep them well waxed, and they do look great.

Yep. 79 and earlier are about 1" longer than 80-82. For reference, the early ones are 65 1/4" long.

Thanks for the clarification Mike! What do you think the chances are of Kebo easily removing the finish? Either by the means of hard buffing it away or by stripping and then hard buffing / polishing them into a nice bright finish?Tuxblacray 2008-01-30 15:25:43
