Vette(s): 1968 427/390 Coupe

Two questions:

1, Will the rocker moldings for a 1970-1977 (Chrome) fit on a 1968?

2, I busted every screw off removing the old rocker moldings, how can I take the rest of the screw out? I have tried a small screw extractor with no luck.

Thanks

The moldings for the later cars are different. The '68 moldings are two peice, I believe? The body shapes are also different at the rear edge of the front fender..

You can get new inserts(nutserts) for the screw threads. You just have to carefully tap/knock/press/drill out the old ones. The new ones come with the inserts, and new stainless screws. Check with Paragon, Zip, etc. for these.

Thanks

They may fit, physicaly...I'm not sure on this one...
The 78-79 cars were the same(except Pacers), the '80 cars were alone, and the '82 cars were alone. I don't know for sure if it's just cosmetical differences, or the moldings were made different.

Vette(s): 1960 (got wiped out in the Rapid City flood of 72), 1968 roadster(sold it so I could buy the 71), 1971 Coupe Chromed almost everything underneath. Had it since "76"

I happen to have a spare Rocker panel repair kit from EC Products that I was going to put on Ebay. I think it is only good for one side, as it has six bolts in the package. I called EC and they no longer sell the item. It's still in the package and I have no idea what I paid for it. I have a bunch of stuff I need to get rid of for C3's. So let me know and I will try and send you a picture if you like.

If it's not painted, Chrome it!!!
