I'm looking at replacing the rocker panels on my 71. I really want to find original or good aftermarket. No foreign junk. I've checked the major online Vette sites. My question is has anyone had experience with this and who makes good ones? Thanks, Terry

If ya' want a real one, would you mind a used one from a Corvette Junkyard? Might be cheaper and it will be GM, just a thought.

Rocker panels, or rocker moldings?

I saw the price of the aftermarket stuff and that is when I decided to polish mine. I used a scotch brite pad on my die grinder and took the anodized finish off and also at the same time worked most of the dings and dents out of the panel. I then used different grits of sandpaper and worked my way up to around 1600 grit. I used wet sandpaper to keep it all clean and neat. I started with around 300 or so. When I got up to 1600 I broke out the Mothers and went to work. You could also polish them on a bench grider with some rouge and they would be even shinier.
I am sending you mine Terry, now that you have practised on yours and know what to do.

Send it over Brian. I'll have her done in 1-2 years. I am talking abot the rocker moldings. One has a pretty good dent in it. I tried to take it out. It looks better but not the way I'd like. The vette catalogs are all around the same price $269 pr. They're probably all made by the same company?
