Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

I keep hearing about people sanding their corvettes. My 82CE has some small cracks not anything big but the paint is dead. I have tried to bring back a couple of spots but the paint is not going to come back.
I have a body shop I have used for years on my other cars. The currently does not own a corvette but has in the past so he knows glass work. I’m not looking for more work than I have to do.
So hear are some questions that I have.
- Is there a book on sanding corvettes?
- Should I even sand it myself ? If not, should I just make sure that the body shop sands out the spider cracks and repairs them?
- I have airpower at home should you use it to do some of the sanding?
- Is there any special tools that make the job easier?
- With all of the curves a shark has I can not see that you could use much of a block to smooth anything out?
