Well i finally put the side louvers on the 72 last night and I love the looks. Its going very slowly back together but I decided I needed to put them on so I could see progress but first I had to black satin everything inside and the frame rail so I did both sides last nite then installed the louvers and WOW! They are my favorite part of the car! Other then all the chrome I the late 60's and early 70's had. Well next is heading to the back and paint everything under there as the tank is down. By the way, does the tank get painted black as well?
Thanks, Rodney

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
Eastwood makes a zinc colored paint for ur gas tank. Can't remember what it's called but something like "Tank Glo"
Rich, Original tank? I didnt think that vette of yours ever needed work. lol! I started the painting on the back end tonight. Lots of cleaning then some painting. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will be done with the back end. Still not going to be able to put the tank back in yet because it looks as tho the rear will be easier to swap out while that tank is down. At the same time I will need to replace shocks and clean and paint everything on the rear axle to axle! I wonder if this thing will ever be completed?

Yeah I didn't take the tank out..the guy I bought it from thought it needed a tank so he replaced it..it really didn't need a tank..but I got the tank sticker though! And a spare gas tank...

Now you have until spring, anyway. There's no way you would want to take paint like that out in the winter!

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.

Those louvers do look cool. Mine just has a depession, although the 80 up ones have a type of louver. One step at a time!
