So I started sanding all the rough spots...low and behold, more show up.  Hopefully I'll have it painted(poorly) by Carlisle.

As bad a rap as Maaco sometimes gets, it's all the painter they use.  I saw the finished product a friends brother in law did and it was spectacular (he had worked in a high end shop).
Go to the local and ask who their best painter is and look over his work.  Offer a tip if certain parameters are met..... no more then 3 runs a body panel etc!  Wink

Think of it this way at Macco you are going to get what you pay for. I know a guy who just had Macco paint his Dodge Dart for $800.00 and that is exactly what he got $800.00 worth of a paint job. Honestly if you are standing 40 feet away from the car looking at side of it directly in front of you it looks pretty good. Like the old projection tv if you stand right in front of it the picture is great. But if you look at it on an angle the picture is all distorted. But other than that "save the wave". If you look at the car on an angle it looks like a lake on a windy day all RIPPElILY. They tape off everything light , door handles etc. they don't remove anything. So if you just want a shinny car that's the place to go. When everybody is waving at you when your crusin it isn't because you have a cool car. They are just waving back at the car that's waving to them. Instead of the guy wasting $800.00 he would of had better results if he just waxed it. The car had caught everybody's attention and they would say cool car when it passed by. Now it is an eyesore. When it drives buy everybody waves and hear what a s****y paint job must of got it at Macco.

There aren't any near me...and I mean for hours and hours.  They list "no results" when I search on their web site.
