Vette(s): 1968 convertible 427/390 British Green w/saddle interior and soft top.4 spd no air. It has just been mechanically restored from the tires up, and I'm working on the cosmetics.
I'm going to attempt to replace weatherstripping on my 68 convertible,I also need to adjust the window fit, does anybody have any advice or "bewares" before I mess up,especially on the window adjustment? Special tools etc.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

When you make adjustments, don't just shut the door.  If you are a bit off, the glass could hit the body and do some damage or break the glass.

No special tools required, once the door panel is off.

Somewhere buried deep in this forum is a helpful post by a former member (Mark72LS5) on adjusting the windows of his '72 coupe.  I'd think most of the steps would be the same for a droptop.  If I get a chance I'll do some dredging and see if I can find it.

I will be following this thread closely. I need to adjust my windows just a little also. Plenty of air getting in my car with the top up and windows up also.

Vette(s): 1968 427 producing 550 hp at rear wheels. Color is Black. This car didn't have a place for a spare tire, or didn't come with an emergency break. The car only has 44,237 origonal miles. License is TERMN8R

Eddie & jwc305, when I did mine, I did wi with the windows down & would roll them up & keep adjusting until they fit.  Then would roll them up & open & close the doors, got lucky & everything fit good & snug.  You have to leave just enough room to let glass brush by the lip on the weather stripping, it will push the window back just before it pops into slot.  Also check window guids & lube everything & you should not have any problems.

Thanks to all for your response, in checking with a friend of mine, he suggested that as long as I'm in the door panel, to go ahead and replace window parts etc. and lube everything,so I have ordered the parts and am waiting to begin. This is scary, I can't imagine me with so many parts to put back together all at one time.MANY PICTURES WILL BE THE ORDER OF THE DAY!! I'll keep you posted as it either progresses or it doesn't!!
