Last weekend I got the courage to investigate my spare tire area. I've had a 78 S.A. for over 3 years and this was the first time dropping it. The sprae tire lock is missing the keys so I had to really coax it around until it finally moved. How would I remove the lock if I have no keys? Also, I did not see any stickers on my gas tank. Where exactly would any be located? Thanks in advance.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

The "tank sticker" will be on the top of the gas tank if it has not been previously removed. Typically, you can't see it without dropping the tank itself or at least getting up there with a mirror and a flashlight.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

The spare tire lock should use the same key as the doors, unless the door locks, or tire lock has been changed. You can remove the bolt that has the lock on it, and take it to a locksmith to have a key made.

Someday I will lower my spare tire and see if it has any air in it. No hurry, right?

The FACTORY air is up front in the cabin. And it works!
The air in the spare got stale. I hate stale air!
I wonder if I would get better gas milage if I left the spare in the garage? The savings might pay for a new tire within a year.

Problem for them would be they would have to remove it to verify if it is true "white air or if it were yellow air". Then they would have to return it since the had violated the actual pressure within the tire. Silly Boyz...
